i can't decide which is worse: buying something at full price and later finding out it went on sale, or seeing something on sale and NOT buying it, and later seeing that the price went up and you're stuck paying double. i think i prefer the former. ignorance is bliss.
i'm sitting in starbucks in basel on a rainy tuesday, with 4 or 5 windows open in firefox looking at plane tickets. plane tickets for spring break, to vienna, then london... plane tickets for summer vision trips in poland and sweden... plane tickets home to philadelphia... plane tickets to visit friends back in the states. it's all rather overwhelming. it's amazing how much money i spend just to get from here to there and back again. such is my missionary life, though. i've been reading time magazine today about foreclosures and mortgages in america. the thought of committing to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a home, committing to a mortgage that you'll be paying for 30 years, seems a terrifying concept to me. why would i want to drop that much money, and commit to being in the same place for that long? i'd rather spend my money on the travel expenses, thank you very much.
